I feel much better that I am no longer obsessed with reading articles on health. If you’re not careful, your start realizing your friends are avoiding you because you bore them silly about being healthy. I used to be fat, lazy, and out of shape, and it made me absolutely miserable, but since I finally got my body back into shape, I have been doing everything that I can to keep myself as healthy as possible.
Reading articles on health helps me to keep up with the latest news in exercise, diet, supplements, and other aspects of longevity. But nowadays, when I read an article on health, it just fills me up with anxiety, After all, one article on health will say one thing, another day and another article says something else. Take soy for example, one group of scientists tell you it’s good for you then another group say don’t touch it because it promotes the development of female hormones in men amongst other side effects. There’s no mystery for me as all I want is the ideal way to stay fir, have a healthy diet and live for a long time.
You see it becomes very confusing when each and every article on health you read has a different answer to the same problem. I can’t help thinking of three recent examples of annoying contradictions, alcohol, chocolate and coffee. The experts that told us not so long ago that these things were bad for us are now saying the complete opposite, for instance red wine is good for the heart and dark chocolate can be good for stress, dark beer or Guinness is also as is coffee but all, I hasten to add in moderation. Well, you know that next they will be saying that if you want a low cholesterol diet you had better consume quantities of your favorite ice cream and cheesecake.
Well it took some time but all these so called experts have managed to do is make people wary about what they are told and to be responsible for themselves. I am not going to stop reading articles on health because I still enjoy them but I do not intent to let them dictate how I should live my life. At the very best, articles on health can give me some health tips that will help me figure out how to exercise, and how to eat right, but the rest is just me listening to my body. Living a healthier life and being happier is what is really important to me so with a bit of luck I should be able to achieve this mostly on my own with very little help form experts.
